Phil Giles

I have been a practising Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2007 and hold a number of United Kingdom qualifications all of which can be viewed at the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy – ‘BACP’ link at the bottom of my Home Page.

I am also a Psycho-Traumatologist specialising in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Acute Psychological Trauma with qualifications accredited by the UK’s National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists.

I have worked as Trauma Therapist near London’s Harley Street for a leading psychotherapy clinic, I have worked with survivors of major critical incidents such as the Grenfell Tower disaster, the Borough Market/London Bridge terrorist attack as well as other critical incidents around the United Kingdom.

I am former frontline Police Officer and a former Officer with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve with a collective experience of over 25 years in uniform.

I have experience in all the areas listed below: –

  • Addictions, including alcohol, controlled drugs or prescribed medication
  • Anger Issues

I have also worked in the legal profession for a number of years and I am well-versed in trauma-related illness arising from Road Traffic Accidents, Industrial Injury or Disease and Clinical Negligence. I am therefore able to provide both Claimant and Defendant Lawyers with medico-legal support from client assessment/treatment to provision of psychotherapy reports.

I have worked with a number of charities and voluntary organisations committed to providing therapy for all. In this capacity, I have been able to focus on the spiritual, cultural, as well as the general face of therapy particularly in the Christian, Jewish, Asian and Muslim communities.

In addition, I have also worked with clients who have been in other traumatic situations particularly those who have witnessed violent acts or crimes or who have been subjected to a violent act/crime, survivors of physical, domestic and sexual abuse.

It has also been my privilege to help both serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services, particularly those who have served in conflict zones around the world and on the front line of law enforcement, fire fighting and ambulance personnel.

I am particularly interested in helping clients to recover from depression, stress, anxiety and insomnia without prolonged use of prescribed medication and I hold an accredited qualification in psychopharmacology, which informs clients about how natural supplements can often be used to bring about improved psychological well being without side effects.
