Phil Giles

I have been a practising Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2007 and hold a number of United Kingdom qualifications all of which can be viewed at the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy – ‘BACP’ link at the bottom of my Home Page.

I am also a Psycho-Traumatologist specialising in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Acute Psychological Trauma with qualifications accredited by the UK’s National Council of Psychotherapists.

I occasionally work as a Volunteer Therapist with a leading Counselling/Psychotherapy practice near Harley Street in London’s West End and have experience in dealing with a wide-range of issues and presenting problems such as:

  • Anger Issues
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement & Loss
  • Chronic Illness or Health Problems
  • Cultural Issues
  • Depression
  • Divorce, Separation & Relationships
  • Family Issues
  • Low Self Esteem
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Phobias
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Sexual Issues
  • Spiritual Issues
  • Stress Management
  • Type I or Type II Trauma (Simple or Complex Trauma)
  • Work-Related Problems

I have also worked in the legal profession for a number of years and I am well-versed in trauma-related illness arising from Road Traffic Accidents, Industrial Injury or Disease and Clinical Negligence. I am therefore able to provide both Claimant and Defendant Lawyers with medico-legal support from client assessment/treatment to provision of psychotherapy reports.

I have worked with a number of charities and voluntary organisations committed to providing therapy for all. In this capacity, I have been able to focus on the spiritual, cultural, as well as the general face of therapy particularly in the Asian and Muslim communities.

I have worked with clients who have been in other traumatic situations particularly those who have witnessed violent acts or crimes or who have been subjected to a violent act/crime, survivors of physical, domestic and sexual abuse.

It has also been my privilege to help both serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services, particularly those who have served in conflict zones around the world and on the front line of law enforcement, fire fighting and ambulance personnel.
